Artist Standing with Immigrant Families (ASWIF) is made up of artists and performing groups that have come together to support immigrant families who have been ripped apart by ICE's indiscriminate deportations.
Saddened by the way our communities have been targeted and torn apart, artists are coming together to stand with and support hard-working immigrant families.
Participating artists will organize their own fundraising performance or dedicate all or a portion of the proceeds from one or more of their performances or events to support immigrant families. Artists will assist each other by publicizing the events of participating artists via their usual publicity channels. This will enable us to work collaboratively and more effectively.
Performances and events from various artists will occur throughout 2026.
Funds raised by participating ASWIF Artists will pay for:

Contributions of Immigrants
In spite of the stated goal of going after the "worst of the worst" criminals, more than 90% of those deported do not have serious any criminal records. Multiple studies have found that immigrants, including undocumented immigrants, are less likely to commit both violent and property crimes than the U.S-born population. Many are hard-working immigrants who work in jobs that domestic workers do not want. Immigrants make up 73% of agricultural labor, 31% in hospitality, 30% of construction workers, and in the health care industry, they make up 41% of home health aids, 28% of physicians, and 17% of RNs filling crucial unfilled roles. In addition, immigrants make up 24-25% of all business owners. Nearly half of Fortune 500 companies are founded by immigrants or their children, driving innovation, job creation, and economic growth to keep the U.S economy humming, contributing over 300 billion to the U.S. economy annually.
In addition, actuarial analyses show that immigrants and undocumented immigrants in particular improve and extend the solvency of the Social Security trust because while they contribute to the fund through payroll deductions, they are not eligible to collect Social Security themselves.
